Questions To Ask Before You Hire Me as A Newborn Photographer

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PHOTOGRAPHING NEWBORNS?

I have been photographing my first daughter as my hobby, until I was asked to photograph my friends' maternity journeys as well as their newborn babies. I was so excited that I decided to dig deeper in this specialty, especially to lull the baby back to sleep, or have baby properly swaddled, or invest in props and accessories; in order to produce higher quality photos and create a relaxing atmosphere for parents during the session as well.

The more sessions I took, the more I feel passionate of and engaged with the happiness that I was able to deliver via my images. I love to see how happy my friends and clients are during the photo shoot and when they receive the products.

2. DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO? WHERE IS IT? DO YOU HAVE REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS?

Yes, my home studio is located in North York and it's fully set up for a session with set up props (swaddle, crates, wooden bed, backdrops and floordrops...). However, in case my clients cannot commute to my studio, I would travel to client's house to photograph their newborns and families with an additional fee.
A full session will last in 2-3 hours, so I'd suggest my clients to have the photoshoot in daytime.

3. WHAT SAFETY MEASURES DO YOU HAVE IN PLACE?

Before each session, I always make sure all the props and accessories are freshly-washed and sanitized before my clients' arrival. I'll also be wearing face masks during the whole session as well. As safety and cleanliness are the most priority, I currently take 01 newborn session a day only.

4. WHAT KIND OF PROPS DO YOU USE? DO I NEED TO SUPPLY THEM?

Props (backdrops, wooden bed, crates or buckets...) and accessories (swaddles, blankets, outfits or stuffed toys ...) will be provided by the studio. Parents can bring extra outfits for babies as they desire for the family photos.

6. ARE SIBLING AND FAMILY IMAGES INCLUDED? WHAT ABOUT GRANDPARENTS?

Absolutely! Siblings or even Grandparents are welcomed to take part in the photoshoot as well, as long as the session time coverage is enough for all family members.

7. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK? WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO DO THE SESSION?

The best time to book a newborn session should be prior to the due date, could a few months or weeks in advance.
I also offer combo packages for a maternity + newborn sessions, which is a perfect opportunity to create beautiful images of the concept Before-After baby delivery. I rarely receive inquiries for last-minute booking but it may happen based on our availability.

8. WHAT ART PRODUCTS DO YOU OFFER? PRINTED? DIGITAL? BOTH?

Regularly, clients will receive digital images via an online gallery where all the photos are downloadable at their highest quality.
Printed images will be at additional charges because there are many options, such as canvas print, framed photos, photo albums, calendars, and so much more ... Please reach out so we can give you a consultation.

11. HOW LONG UNTIL I CAN SEE THE PHOTOS? HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

It will take at least 5 business days to deliver the albums. For other requests regarding printed products, delivery time might vary, but it often takes around 14 business days and I normally will deliver it by myself.

12. ARE YOU A REGISTERED TAX-PAYING BUSINESS? WILL THERE BE A CONTRACT?

Absolutely! Having a contract or a mutual agreement will protect everyone involved, as it helps to easily refer back to any questions later on.

13. WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT? STYLE, OFFERING, EXPERIENCE, PERSONALITY?

Despite the fact that I am a novice photographer in this specialty, but I'm confident of making a comfy and relaxing atmosphere for my clients from the start until they receive the final products.
